Verdict On Salman’s 1998 Arms Act Case To Be Announced On January 18
On January 18 the Jodhpur District Sessions Court will either convict Salman Khan or he will walk free, yet again
In a few days from now, the Jodhpur District Sessions Court will announce its verdict on Salman Khan's 19-year-old Arms Act case. The court of chief judicial magistrate fixed the date after the final arguments from both sides were completed this morning.
Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit has directed Salman to be present in the court during pronouncement of the order.
For those who have come in late, here's what happened: A case was registered against Salman under the Arms Act for alleged possession and use of arms with expired license during poaching of two blackbucks, a protected animal under the Wildlife Protection Act, at village Kankani near Jodhpur in October, 1998.
If convicted, the superstar could face imprisonment for seven years. However, if he manages to walk free in this Arms Act case, it will have a huge impact on the other two cases running on him. Apart from the blackbuck poaching case, Salman’s 2002 hit-and-run is pending at the apex Indian court.
